It’s the myth that will not die. This Christmas, Dr. Kennedy offers a powerful answer on national television.
The claim that Christ and Christianity have soiled the pages of history by spawning wars, thwarting progress, and upsetting the established order has been around for almost 2,000 years.
Its earliest recorded expression came from an angry first-century mob that, in rioting over the preaching of Paul and Silas, protested to authorities that “these who have turned the world upside down have come here too” (Acts 17:6
NKJV).
A century later the pagan writer Celsus blasted Christians with a similar charge. “You use all the force of your magic arts,” he said, “to accomplish the ruin of mankind.”
Blemish of Mankind?
German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche returned to that smear in 1888, when he labeled Christianity “the one immortal blemish of mankind.” Nietzsche, an influential thinker who gave us the phrase “God is dead” and inspired Adolf Hitler to do mass murder, said, “The Christian Church has left nothing untouched by its depravity; it has turned every value into worthlessness, and every truth into a lie, and every integrity into baseness of soul.” Twentieth century British philosopher Bertrand Russell was equally unsparing, branding Christianity as “the principal enemy of moral progress in the world.”
After two millennia, the accusation that Christianity is detrimental to mankind has become a well-entrenched line of secular assault, one bested only by attacks on the Virgin Birth and the Resurrection as the most common criticism of the faith. But, as evidence from the last 2,000 years shows, it’s also not true. |

After all, what if Jesus had never been born? What if the influence of Jesus and His followers had never been brought to bear on the world? Life in every area of human existence would be immeasurably more harsh, bleak, and barren. That is the verdict of Dr. Kennedy’s popular book,
What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?, and a powerful new one-hour television documentary by the same name that airs Saturday and Sunday, December 21 and 22 on
The Coral Ridge Hour, and December 25 at 9 p.m. ET on PAX TV.
Greatest Benefactor
“We’re going to tell the truth—withheld from most Americans for the last half century—that Christ has been the greatest benefactor to the human race the world has ever known,” said Dr. Kennedy.
“What If Jesus Had Never Been Born? will demonstrate that people ought to get down on their knees and thank God for Jesus Christ.”
