Center Seeks Million Voters
What if a million more Christians turned out to vote in November than did four years ago? What difference would it make this fall? A Center for Reclaiming America project to identify and educate one million voters may provide the answer.
It’s not that Christians don’t already do their civic duty. Born-again Christians showed up to vote in 2000 at a greater rate than did non-Christians (59 percent to 46 percent), according to the Barna Group. Fifty million of the 105 million votes cast in 2000 (48 percent), were cast by born-again believers—those who profess Jesus Christ as their Savior.

33 Million Missing
Still, there is room for improvement. Barna reports that there are 83 million born-again believers in America, which means that some 33 million Christians failed to cast a ballot four years ago. Worse, of that 33 million, an estimated 14 million were not even registered to vote.
The absence of born-again believers at the ballot box makes a difference when, as in 2000, a national election hinges on just 537 votes. America’s post-election debacle in 2000 illustrates the importance of every vote—and why Christians must do their duty to God and country by turning out to vote on Election Day 2004.
The Center for Reclaiming America is working to make sure they do. Led by its new executive director Dr. Gary Cass (see article on page six) the Center is seeking to identify one million people who will pray and then vote November 2, 2004, when our nation goes to the polls.
“Picture a culture that is more just and good,” said Cass, “where civility and honor are offered to all men. This is not some unattainable pipe dream. This is a reality that can be achieved—virtually overnight —if those who claim to follow Christ would do one simple thing: vote.”

With the hope of mobilizing faith-based Americans, the Center has created two websites: ChristianVotes.com and MillionVotes.com. ChristianVotes.com is an information resource for concerned citizens, pastors, and churches. You can register to vote using forms available at the site and contact your federal representatives in Washington, D.C. You can also join the MillionVotes team by clicking a link to MillionVotes.com.
MillionVotes.com members receive regular prayer and informational updates leading up to Election Day—along with access to resources to equip you as a Christian voter and help you spread the word to family and friends. Already, nearly 250,000 Americans have committed to voting on November 2.
Negotiations are also underway with other Christian groups to create a broad coalition of faith-based organizations working to strengthen the Christian vote in 2004. These organizations will all network through MillionVotes.com, allowing potentially millions of Christians to access essential voting information.

Significant Impact
“I believe the MillionVotes campaign can have a significant impact on the future of our nation,” said Dr. Kennedy. “If you have not signed up to join MillionVotes.com, please do so today.”

You can join the Millionvotes.com team by going to www.MillionVotes.com.
